I am Pihla Pasanen, an artist who currently focuses on painting and illustration, both traditionally and digitally. However, my artistic background is in video and editing. I’m also into photography. Especially I like street photography because it’s about capturing authenticity.
I’m studying visual arts at Lapland University of Applied Sciences. I live and work in Helsinki, Finland, but I come from the northern city of Kemi.
I want to tell little stories about life through my art. I’m constantly observing the world around me. I stop to watch and listen. I pick up fallen shopping lists from the ground. I’m inspired by people, dreams, memories and different styles. Colors are important to me. In my work, I want to capture moments, different states of mind and strange outputs of the imagination. I like to challenge myself to think outside of my comfort zone. The world is full of different angles!
